Someday I will tell my grandchildren about this moment

This night, as a 17-year-old girl, I saw a young black man elected president of the United States.

I am not a politician. I believe that this will bring better things for us, though I have no way of knowing what the future will really bring. But, in this moment, I am able to hope. I am able to believe that the future is bright. And that is a good feeling. When I think about it I start to tear up.
