I'm obsessed. This is Matt Doyle and Emma Hunton singing RSO's "Twisted Teeth"

They both look and sound incredible and RSO is such an amazing songwriter it's like unbelievable.

Every Valentine's Day now I have to watch these videos -- they're two years old and [livejournal.com profile] berthikins and I like, still make references to them year round. They're just that lulz.

Best parts:

1. Jonny B Wright. Like 90% of the things he says, but especially in this part when he starts swearing.
2. Phoebe being cynical the entire time.
3. Skylar and his obsession with smells.

Pt 1: Romance, Pt 2: Firsts, Pt 4: Love On Broadway (they do superlatives re: each other, basically)

I also enjoy the closeted guys in these videos trying hard to carefully choose their words so as not to suggest otherwise. I remember us all complaining that Gideon Glick left the cast before these videos happened because he would totally be shamelessly flaming and open in them, I have no doubt.

OH I FORGOT TO EXPRESS MY TOTAL JOY AT HEARING THAT JOHN GREEN IS A FATHER

EPIC.

I love Switchfoot. I love Jon Foreman.

This was the song I was most looking forward to on the new album and this is... one of the best performances they've given on a talk show ever. So gorgeous, and surprise Jon on piano instead of guitar! Still my favorite band ever. Srys.

Officially obsessed with Sing Off. Especially this performance.

This show is like the new America's Best Dance Crew.

I am obsessed with this channel.

In other news, there's a community theater near me putting on Rent. And they have auditions... on Monday. And I'm tempted to do it. Except Monday is really close and I'm nervous because I'm inexperienced. I need 36-48 bars of a song "in the style of Rent". The current thought is Nobody's Side from Chess. If anyone wants to provide any suggestions, particularly songs I might already know, and even better have sheet music, you know, let me know.

So I finally heard the song Switchfoot did for the Narnia movie...

1) Jon, I'm glad you've started wearing hats, it's classy.

2) Jon, I think some sort of intervention is necessary with you and that hair. Don't let it get longer than this. I'm glad we had this talk.

3) Purdy song.

Didn't write yesterday because I didn't get home from play until after 9 and wrote very little today because I was too distracted by OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA.

Lea may not be my favorite Wendla, but her voice blows me away.

Fans of Robi's Georg... you must listen. You will be pleased.

So, I love Seth Rudetsky. And I also love Cash Cab (SHUT UP).

SOMEONE PUT UP VIDEO OF SETH'S APPEARANCE ON CASH CAB.

So you might think to yourself, oh, so it's another video of Johnny singing Buried Boy, which, granted, IS AN AMAZING SONG.

But then, at about 2:40 into it...

YOU'LL UNDERSTAND HOW EPIC THIS ONE IS.

Shout out to [livejournal.com profile] prosopopeya for linking me.

Okay, now I need to share with you the geekiest thing ever.

I was like, GOD, THAT NOTE JOHN BELTS REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF SOMETHING JON [FOREMAN] SINGS OR SANG ONCE... and so of course I call in Switchfoot expert Bertha and make her listen to the note and make her help me figure out what I could be thinking of, and after some discussion she suggestions, "This Is Your Life"?

Sure enough we look it up and the bit I was thinking of is like 3 mins in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gRYu_ngpV8

GEEKY. GEEKY. GEEKY.

I'm watching old pre-John's sudden departure OSP videos... at one two in the morning...

And I would like to propose a challenge to find the best Shoulda Woulda Coulda lines. It's been so long since I've really watched/listened to any besides like, the classic Rockwood, I can't even really remember some of the good ones.

Personally, I'm a fan of, "Sorry baby, you broke my heart when you came out of the wedding cake and fucked John. ...can you top that?" and John's totally topping it with his James Blunt impersonation.

On a similar note. I think we can all agree the best At Least Affection is the "Could you please tell John to SHUT UP?" "When you guys get a moment could you pass a note to Heather that says, uh, up yours?" but I think the runner up is the "It's a special, secret, shared thing between two friends." one.

It took me FOREVER to find that link, by the way :|

I also like how I keep checking my e-mail in hopes of getting responses to some things I sent today as if I actually expect answers at 2 am.

I will finish off this post with some post-OSP John. And when you look to the night skies, don't think of goodbyes, think how I'm right here, ever, ever, ever...

In response to the edit on my previous post...

Also, looking at that image reminds me that I really need new themes for Firefox and Thunderbird XD

If you're a fan of John Gallagher, Jr. and/or Old Springs Pike...

These videos are priceless.

"My life is awesome."

"Did Heather just say something? 'Cause I didn't hear :|"

"And the awkward thing is... I teach them."
