Everything's Waiting

This is going to be another one of those posts where I make a list where every point is somehow related to Spring Awakening with not-so-subtle links hidden all in the text and people wonder if I have hobbies. Actually I do have a project going on that I will inform you about at a later time so I can flock it.

1) Matt Doyle. msmoocow just linked me to this performance he did the other night -- this song is like perfect for him. It hits on all of the best things about his voice and he sings the shit out of it. Kay.



2a) BUENO IT'S ROBI! Robi Hager replacing Andy Mientus in the Spring Awakening tour. It's not a secret that I've never been on the Mientus bandwagon, and so I can't say I feel like I'll miss him. I'm super super excited for Robi as Hanschen -- I love what I've heard of his Hanschen in the past and I think it's probably the role overall that suits him best (though his Touch Me solo as Georg is epic for sure). The sad part is, I highly doubt they're going to let him understudy Melchior, and I am devastated that the world keeps on teasing us with these small chances of Buenochior happening and then they DON'T. Just let Robi go on for Melchior. Just once. By this point, he deserves it.

Until it happens, I will default to assumption that, like Rob Devaney as Adult Men, Buenochior would've been the greatest Melchior ever to grace the stage, if only you had given him an opportunity to play the role.

2b) Speaking of people who did not go on for certain characters in Spring Awakening, I'm still devastated that Jenn Damiano left before she was old enough to play Wendla.

2c) Speaking of people who were in Spring Awakening but didn't go on together, it also kills me that Alice Lee and Matt Doyle never had a chance to go on as Melchior and Wendla together. Alice's voice seems like... completely unexpected for a Wendla understudy, and I sort of totally love it and the way it works with Matt's.

1) Do I need to update on LJ's update page instead of DS for it to show up in my Facebook feed? Also, is it a bad idea to connect my LJ and Facebook? My LJ is rather anonymous but my Facebook is probably the least anonymous thing I have online. Discuss.

2) I know in my last list I talked almost completely about SA, but... Oh, YouTube. Oh, Spring Awakening. They had to perform on Good Morning America. And I need a list for this one. I like hearing myself type.

Matt Doyle understudying Hanschen. Which is kind of lulz considering I just discussed Hanschen understudies and o look one on mah television.
b1) Johnny B missing from another press-y appearance? Not that I really care, it's like one line, but I'm just curious since, you know... Robi did his part when they were on CW, Gerard did his part at Bryant Park, and Gerard again at Virgin Megastore. And now Matt on GMA. It's nice that the understudies get a little time to shine, though, I guess? XD
b2) Matt was totally fierce. TOTALLY fierce. Though he looks a little like a dark-haired Draco Malfoy there. y/n? I just thought of that when I was screencapping that XD
c) Blake Bashoff. Of all the songs in SA that Moritz has a decent part in... I think And Then There Were None is the one that John Jr does better than Bashoff to the greatest degree. Not that he was bad here or anything, but just saying.
c1) On a tangent, for one, I had no idea there were still clips from that boot on YouTube, for two, three cheers for Frances as Frau Gabor.
d) Blake Daniel. Taking Ernst in a different direction than Gideon Glick. Would love to see video of him to investigate this further.
e) I sort of forgot that Skylar Astin is pretty good looking.
f) Spring. Awakening. Stop. Performing. Totally Fucked. On shows. You can't say "fucked" on. I mean, the Tony awards, I thought the whole self-censoring thing was pretty clever, but when you change the lyrics, the deal is off. (I forgave you for Bitch of Living at the Tonys, because that was, well, the Tonys, and Bitch of Living, but Totally Fucked...)
g) Eryn Murman's dress. I already discussed this but now I have a decent picture.

3) This blows my mind a little.

a) Kaba Modern eliminated?
b) Kaba Modern? Eliminated?!?!? But I just started watching this show, too!

4) I love Seth Rudetsky.

A list of varying degrees of seriousness.

1) My grandpa passed away last Wednesday.

2) My parents are home now. Money is a frightening thing right now.

3) Over the course of being home alone I sewed this.

4) My older computer bit the dust. Ouch. Bertha and I have been sharing this one. Right now she's napping :)

5) I'm kind of into Jesse as Hanschen right now. Well, his gay reprise. The masturbation scene... I don't know. I'm not saying I'm looking for a cast of Johnny B clones when it comes to that scene (Matt. Robi. Drew.), but it's sort of like... Jesse does the scene more like you'd expect someone to interpret it, while the charm of Johnny B's performance is that he was so unconventional and it turned out brilliant. But Jesse's gay reprise is so gorgeous. I've never been obsessed with that scene like some people, but between Matt and Jesse... they nail it.

6) Speaking of SA, I've got icons and sims I've been meaning to post for a while now. Maybe I'll get to that today.

7) Since, you know, IT'S SPRING BREAK.

8) Also speaking of SA, liking Eryn's dress. However, I wouldn't mind if they ditched Krysta's old dress (now worn by Socha) in favor of Jenn's old yellow one. God, I'm such a nerd.

9) Speaking of Krysta, she looked gorgeous at the ITH opening, and it's sort of a shame that she's in the ensemble where her talent is not appreciated. She should get in on the SA tour. As WENDLA.

10) Speaking of the SA tour, I'm totally calling John Jr for Moritz or Otto, Matt for Melchior or ensemble, and Lea for Wendla. Just saying.

11) On a subject that isn't SA, I sucked at my precalc test yesterday.

15) It's only since I started putting the names of all the people I mention in posts in my tags that I realize how many SA actors I blab about :)

Um... John Jr needs to make a solo CD... I'm also falling in love with him singing this song which he did not write. Also, I was so ready to call him coming back to Spring Awakening in May, but it turns out Bashoff isn't leaving then as rumored. I'm actually not that disappointed to hear that. I think I feel like John has sort of exhausted the character of Moritz, at least for now, while Bashoff just got there and every time I hear him in the role he's growing. So.

John isn't the only former Spring Awakening cast member I'm loving on right now. And Blue Hair is an adorable song.

In other other news.

I stayed home on Friday because when my mom got home from work she was all feverish and she asked me if I could afford to stay home so she at least wouldn't have to drive two people to school. It also gave me time to dig the Cramer's Rule sheet out, which was apparently jammed at the bottom of my backpack, but I was panicing about and had been hoping to locate some time before study hall on Friday so I could do it. Yeeeah. Don't need another reason to be sucking in that class.

In other news... life. I'm still upset about the precalc test. I *knew* that stuff, darnit, but the test had to be so long and unreasonable. Today was sort of eh -- I spent study hall sitting in the library reading I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, then watched an episode of Numb3rs in precalc -- if the show in general is anything like that episode I'm not particularly interested -- and then in English... we discussed Uncle Tom's Cabin and junk.

No fair that we have school tomorrow.

Then I went home and sat around a napped for a bit. Sigh.

Also, tonight I was reminded of just how insane the Broadway production of Chess was, particularly opening night. Pretty insane.
