a) I am a nerd
b) I... no, just, I am a nerd.

This is taken from an IM conversation:

SO, YOU KNOW, [the song of] PURPLE SUMMER [a song from Spring Awakening]

IT'S THIS KIND OF FLOWER THAT BLOOMS IN LIKE, LATE SUMMER. IT LOOKS KIND OF LIKE THIS: http://www.terragalleria.com/images/np-pacific/yose41229.jpeg

AND AS I WAS EXCITEDLY EXPLAINING THAT, EVEN THOUGH I ALREADY KNEW PURPLE SUMMER WAS A FLOWER, I DIDN'T KNOW THE FUN FACT ABOUT IT BLOOMING IN SUMMER INSTEAD OF SPRING AND ISN'T THAT COOL!1!! WHEN RACHELLE POINTED OUT THAT THESE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE FLOWER I WAS GIVING SOUND SIMILAR TO THE FLOWERS ILSE HAS

AND IF YOU CONSIDER SONG OF PURPLE SUMMER AND HOW IN IT PURPLE SUMMER IS BEING USED AS A METAPHOR FOR ADULTHOOD, IT GIVES DDS/BW/LEFT BEHIND WHOLE NEW MEANINGS. I mean, I guess a lot of it is stuff I already knew but I have a history of going WOAH I MEAN I SORT OF KNEW THAT WAS THERE BUT I DIDN'T REALLY THINK ABOUT IT THAT HARD BEFORE (I do this a lot with things relating to this scene, actually)

SUCH AS: Ilse walks into the scene holding purple summer (and she's the character, among the teens, who is the most "adult" -- or is trying to come off that way, anyway).

As she talks about her sexual escapades, she jabs Moritz with purple summer. When she gets upset and sort of loses her LOOK AT ME I'M SO MATURE attitude, she runs away -- dropping purple summer. SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT Moritz picks up purple summer, breathes it in for a moment, but then sets it aside and kills himself. Then, all the characters come over, pick up purple summer and then drop it into his grave.

YEAH METAPHORS.

Okay, yes, I should be in bed but instead I wrote this LJ entry.
