Writer's Meme: Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.

1. Title: You Cut Me Down To Size
Fandom: Spring Awakening
Pairing: Melchior/Moritz
Rating: PG
Summary: Melchior analyzes a lot of things, but he tries not to analyze himself. He realizes, sometimes, though, that a part of him is a little too fascinated by other people.
Notes: I dedicate this... to [profile] ladyeshen and [profile] labellacaracol. Title from Coldplay's Swallowed In The Sea

This is one of the first SA fics I wrote, but it still remains my favorite. For one, it totally took me by surprise when I was inspired to do something Melchior/Moritz from Melchior's point of view, which is something that at the time I don't think any of us SA slash writers had really tried. This fic sort of re-defined how I thought of Melchior from this point forward.

2. Title: Every Living Thing
Fandom: Spring Awakening (musical with one reference to play)
Rating: PG-13
Pairings:  Take a deep breath and prepare yourself: Georg/Hanschen and a little implied Georg/Anna. Take another deep breath. It's going to be okay. Keep an open mind.
Words: 3764 - in 8 parts
Summary: A Georg-centric story. Though Moritz and Wendla's deaths are certainly tragic, consider also those who were left to witness their absences.
Notes: This is a very belated birthday gift for [profile] dreamsofstars. She only prompted me with Georg -- the story went where it liked from there... The sections are separated by music terms and definitions.

This is probably the longest publicly-posted fic I've done that I can be proud of. I did it over several days, which is odd for me as I usually write fics in a night. This is also my first try at really writing Hanschen. Or Georg. And any kind of implication of pr0n.

3. Title: I Want To Know That My Heart's Still Beating
Fandom: Spring Awakening (general)
Rating: PG
Words: 1428
Pairing: Melchior/Moritz
Summary: Moritz is falling apart.
Notes: A little further from what I think is possible in canon than I am used to venturing, but this is a birthday gift for [profile] rawrfoo, so. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY.

This is my latest right now and I tend to be fond of them... but I also like this one because it's a little riskier (as I say in the note) than I'm used to without, I think, getting *too* OOC. This was an interesting exploration of Melchior, and also near-suicide Moritz through Melchior's eyes, which I hadn't tried before.

4. A Series of Anti-Climaxes, Part 3
Title: My Latest Mistake
Fandom: Spring Awakening (general, with musical leanings)
Rating: PG
Pairing: Melchior/Ilse
Summary:
The ghosts inside his mind carry his burden with them, and this time there is nowhere to go as the weight begins to crush him. She dances out of the trees like a phantom from his childhood and it's the dying embers of innocence and memories that attract him...
Notes: For labellacaracol, who suggested it, and also summary courtesy of her. Takes place post-canon.

Shelli had been talking about Melchior/Ilse for a bit, and I thought it could happen, but I never expected I'd be the first to write it. This fic and the next one on my list are both unusual for me, as they're less purple prose-y and more full of movement, something I think I need to get into more if I want to improve my non-fanfic writing or continue to try my hand at longer pieces.

5. A Series of Anti-Climaxes, Part 2
Title: Not Who I Used To Be
Fandom: Spring Awakening (musical)
Rating: PG
Pairing: Anna/Wendla
Summary: Anna – Anna couldn't lead anyone. She was sure of that.
Notes: For [profile] labellacaracol, who always writes things for other people but never gets things written for her.

I don't write the girls often, so I'm proud of this one. This was also my first try at femslash.

Tagging... [livejournal.com profile] labellacaracol, though I know she's done this one before, [livejournal.com profile] rawrfoo. [livejournal.com profile] thru_violets...

While I'm doing a fanfic meme, and since I've written more than usual lately:

The DVD Commentary Meme:

If you've ever watched your favorite dvds, and then found yourself eager to hear exactly what the actors, directors, writers and even production designers thought about making the episode, the movie, or whatever - you'll know sometimes the best parts of dvds are hearing the commentaries. Getting into an actor's feelings about the character they play, getting the background behind a writer's plans and metaphors, even just getting the stupid anecdotal stuff that makes you laugh, it's all good.

Ask me about any story, and I'll do a DVD commentary for it! Satisfy your curiosity!
