Mar. 23rd, 2005 04:12 pmWell, you want to hear about my day? Alright, alright, but my life is pretty monotonous.
Since most of the FPSers are involved with the Student Council or in the Talent Show as performers or Stage Crew, there were about 6 people left first hour after they all went to the rehearsal. So, we just sat around. And I did my Algebra.
Second hour we finished up a video on Anne Frank. It was sad.
Third hour we watched a video on Spontaneous Human Combustion, which was... interesting :B
Fourth hour more than half the class was gone again since most of the FPSers are also in High Math. So we did.. math-y stuff. And I managed not to make a fool of myself, I understood the problems and had the correct answers.
At passing period, I walked with Amy to each of our lockers, and at her locker someone shoved Eric and he hit me, I hit the locker and stumbled on top of... I think it was Baba. It hurt, but I forgot about it by the time I got into the locker room.
Fifth hour was PE. We ran for 5 minutes (We used to run for 7 minutes last year, but we could walk more easily behind teacher's backs and they just tisked when we did. Mr. Hurley doesn't let us walk. If you aren't running every step, God help you.), which was painful, but we're getting better. We're being eased into it, which is nice... You see, fitness testing is after break. If we do better than usual, good, proove Mr. Borden didn't know what he was doing.
Sixth hour we worked on a project thing dealing with a book we read that we were supposed to finish before the end of the period. I was called to the office to be told to go to the art room, which I didn't get, since they could've just called me to the art room rather than the office, and signed some papers and stuff dealing with my entry into State Fair. So by the time I got back to class, the bell rang, and my project thing wasn't finished, so the sub agreed to let me get it to her after lunch.
So at lunch I had cheese-stuffed ravioli and sat at our yellow table to eat it, doing my work. Elsa. Joe, Tony, the new girl, all hung around the table gossiping and discussing the events of the talent show rehearsal, I didn't participate in that and just worked on my stuff. After that, I wandered over to the long blue table and talked about stuff with Colleen and Kaylee and stuff...
In FACE we ate our stuffed potatos. They weren't all that great. Well, that's the end of FACE, Info. Tech. starts when we come back...
Eighth hour was orch as ususal... If you are privliged enough to see the video/sound recording of songs from my concery when it happens in Mid-May, keep in mind something when listening to the New World Symphony- that song is painful to play. I don't mean like emotional pain or whatever, I mean physical pain. Some of those fingerings (Shut up XP) can be difficult to stretch to, and we play the song super fast in rehearsal. Mr. Blanchard revealed to us today that he doesn't intend for us to play it that fast and he knows that for many of us its just impossible for us to play some of those 16th notes at that speed, our fingers just can't move that fast, the whole purpose of doing that fast is that 1. we really work at those difficult parts 2. we're more comfortable with doing it at the normal speed, it seems less difficult after you've done it faster. Which is good, because though we're not real big complainers, we are in pain after playing through that entire song. With us violas, we have a part where we're playing on the C string and that's painful for us because playing over that a half a dozen times in a practice your wrist isn't very happy about being twisted to reach that string, and, well, your arm gets tired. Viola is a big instrument for someone with such little upper arm strength as me :( I might post up some pictures of the viola music for you non-musical people to ooh and aaah at :) We play in a completely different clef than most instruments.
