Okay, so. Mom got a new TV, shh, Dad doesn't seem to have noticed yet, since the one in the family room died. She said she followed the directions it came with and plugged everything in just as I had it on the other TV, and the new TV was not acknowledging the cable, and she wanted me to look at it while everyone was out of the house. So, I do, and I run through the channel search and everything and it acts like there's no cable, but it acknowledges the DVD/VCR. So apparently the new TV doesn't like that I had the cable running through the DVD/VCR.

So, I twist my back in unnatural ways to reach behind the cabinet and get the cable unplugged from the DVD/VCR, and plug it directly into the TV. Turn the TV on, the cable works fine with it.

So then I had a dilemma. The only cord I had on hand from the VCR/DVD was the one that fit where the cable was. It appeared the only way I could have the DVD/VCR and the cable plugged in at once would be with one of those cords with the audio/video/stereo things on either end. I found that the DVD player in the living room was plugged in to that TV that way, so I stole that cord. After much struggling, I got the cord plugged into the DVD/VCR and the TV. I turned it on and checked the inputs and it was peachy.

So, woohoo! I set up the family room TV again!

Problem. Now I didn't have any cord for the living room DVD. That cheap player had no way to put the cable through it like the family room one did, so I couldn't just swap cords like I wanted. I needed another of those audio/video/stereo ones. Now, the DVD/VCR had to have originally come with one, and God knows how many electronics we've had over the years with cords like that, so there was bound to be one in a drawer somewhere. So I go on a quest through the drawers and find none. I try to think of where else a cord like that might be. Now, I have USB cables galore stuffed in the cabinet with the printer by the computer, and I wondered if maybe by some chance something got put in there.

I opened the cabinet, not even the one where most of my crap is, I look down, and literally at my feet right under the printer is one of those audio/video/stereo cables. New, still with the twisty thing around it. I picked it up in awe, sure I couldn't be that lucky, that this couldn't be the cord I needed, but I went into the living room and tried it. It was the right one.

It was like the electronics gods just smiled on me and dropped the necessary cord right at my feet.
Srys.

Honey, it's like... it's official.
The Christmas season has started. The season of miracles.
